We are running a contest to rename this site.
So if you think you have a good name for our site then visit our Facebook page, "LIKE" it and enter your suggestion on the wall.
If you don't want to enter a name then you can also vote on names entered by liking them or adding a comment (only 1 like or comment per person allowed).

So What is SOCit?
SOCit is a social networking site that is perfect for making new friends, creating groups, community creation for clubs, special interest groups, and everything in between.

Friends
Create connections between members through friend relationships. Friends can see each other's posts, can post on each other's journals and send each other messages. Friend lists can also be displayed on the site (subject to security settings).

Messaging
Members can keep up to date on new postings, photos, links, forums posts, events & the comments that they follow. Private messaging between members includes settings for who can PM and supports attachments to Private Messages also.

Member profile pages offer a large range of options. Users can display an avatar, status updates, friends & group lists, links, photos and posts from the forums. You can even add in links to your Facebook, Flicker, Twitter and other accounts and display them on your profile.

Members can post status updates on profiles and pages for groups and friends. Status updates fully support comments and email notifications and flow through to the members summary activity stream, giving members a customized view of all their activity

User and group photo uploads are easy through the journal or through profile and group photo galleries. Create folders, upload photos, comments and more. All uploads can be summarized and displayed on the activity journals through the site.

Posting links on profiles or groups captures information from the link like title, description and even the option to choose a thumbnail image from the linked page. Like all journal features, other members can easily comment on links.
